Spirituality is more global. Religion is just a part of it. A lot has been written about spirituality The book “The secret “of Jerry and Esther Hicks was a best seller . I have never used Ouija board but it is said that people use them to communicate with spirits. And they are warned sometimes. Because it might be dangerous. And in many countries people know much about yoga as a form of spirituality. Moreover, India is famous with its gurus who hang on a polytheistic tradition with an amazing performance. In Africa some go to traditional priests to submit their problems and are convinced to have solutions. They are Pastors and priests worldwide promising to help to solve all kinds of existential problems . So why will one use the old fashioned abrahamic religions to stir people to change? Is religion not an opium to the people and therefore dangerous?
The answer is simple: Religion can be used as an opium only if you are a blind follower. But it is a mean for enlightenment if your are good intended . You have listen and study the teachings carefully and try to apply them to your daily life and you will be secured. You will discover that religious teachings are the basis of the Moral law and that most of the ideas influencing our contemporary societies originated from the scriptures. When you understand the scriptures you can see how god works. You will understand how mankind is one despite the disparities and how the universe is govern by these principles. You can use this knowledge to enforce your principle and protect yourself from going astray in a society where appearances seem to be more important than moral values.
They are a lot of groups of worshipers in our cities because many people cannot find a purpose in their lives. People go in these groups without understanding the Scriptures. They are looking for inner peace or salvation. Such a pursue is not bad, but without knowing that god is one you will certainly go astray and find yourself in a realm different from that of the laws of god. It is Abraham who first challenged his people by destroying their Idols and teaching them about the one one true God, the creator of heaven and earth. (qu’ran 2:51-66).
The difference between a from of spirituality that might mislead you or compromise your soul(For those who believe that it is possible) is when you are sure that you are worshiping only God without any partner neither any representative or saint and you are sure that your Pastor, teacher or guru is just giving you a message that you have consider and apply. The difference is when you are applying the unity of God
